Reagan Captured. Irvin H. Reagan, who fled the coun try and forfeited his bail bond, was arrested last week for horse stealing in Brown county. He escaped from the officer, who arrested him, and started to kew Albany to give himself up. He boarded the train at Jones ville, having purchased a ticket for New Albany, and took a seat by officer Matlock who had been put in search of Reagan. He was brought to this place on Saturday and lodged in jail to await his trial in this county. A few Democratic mal-contents, says the Seymour Democrat, have published in the Charlestown Record, a Republican paper, what purports to be a record of Mr. Kerr. It is not. It is a record of the capacity of these political bummers for lying and misrepresentation. These posters, who have the confidence and advice of Voyles, the New albany postmaster, who pays the bills, will have their record shown up in a way that will be decidedly unpleasant for them. Mr. Kerr’s record, personally and politi cally is good, the record of his tro ducers, personally and politically, will not bear the light. They are heaping up wrath for the day of wrath that will burst upon their leads and destroy them forever. Personal. Our clever, substantial Democratic friend Dr. Samuel C. Wolfe of Posey township, was in Corydon yesterday. He reports the Democracy all right in Posey township, that banner Demo cratic township, which never turns her back on the enemy. If Horace Greeley were now living and took occasion to say anything about the trouble connected with Plymouth Church, he would probably say, as he did on another occasion, “They may all be trying to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, but that somebody is lying there can be no mistake.” There has been apprehension of serious trouble in France. President McMahon, however, by a little firm ness quelled it. Ife announced that he had been given authority for seven years and that he would use it, and that the assembly should not play fast and loose with him. Notice to ‘Trustees.
