IQT.N.)uisherght r to ingrt-int,:traaedak-forree50.ion*ictng.allonsorsur-ur-0V-sh-*Tan,tiesrw.liars shall have their part in the lake that burneth with fire and brimstone.”—Central Christian Advocate.Eev. W. A. Mayhew has been called to experience the saddest bereavement of domestic life. His wife ia dead. It occurred on last Saturday morning, at her residence, in Brunswick. The intelligence was sent here by telegraph to be forwarded to him at Hew Bloomfield Circuit, where he was holding a quarterly meeting. Alas! to be absent from home at such a time! The abrupt blow of this intelligence, the still ruder shock of return to a desolated hearthstone, surely this is the Goth-semeae of his life. They are voices crying out for him, “Pity me, oh my friends, for the hand of God hath touched me.”Wo knew her in the bright days of a lovelyand beautiful girlhood, when she was a student in Howard Female College, at Fayette. Since then we have not met. We doubt not the promise of an accomplished womanhood and a useful and pious life have been realized. Though not with her when the spirit took its flight, the stricken husband is not in doubt whither it has gone. The usual wifolv wel-C? M'come does not, and will not, on earth again greet his return from the travels of an itinerant ministry-—it awaits him in the home of the skies.
