78 Youths Picked forAll-Star Game July 22tire3datleridelee.i©atk,feigidisS,1-xtl~ik30sitbEighteen youghful baseball players were named this week by coaches to play in an all-star game at the Jefferson field diamond in Independence on Sunday evening, July 22.The all-star team will play the Independence Federal Savings and Loan team which leads the Lions league in the local summer season's play. The game will begin at 7s30 p.m. with coaches of the three other teams in the league directing their players against the Federal Savings team which has five wins and one loss and which is coached by Don Hearn and Ronnie Hood.Named to the all-star team are die following players: Greenley team - Joey Huntington, Eddie Franz, Ronnie Ferris, Dennis Bowers, Alan Kress and David Hall; Farmers State Savings bank team - Tom Fratzke, Gary Hilmer, Bob Hughes, Tom McBride, Jerry Hare and Rick Vaughn; McGrane Drug team-Gary Franck, Jerry Williams, Steve Holtz, Roger Downs, Richard Snyder and Pat Thornton.Members of the Federa Savings team are: Mike Overland, Roger Fox, Vince Dixon, David Heiserman, Richard Hamilton, Tim Thornton, Doug Brace, Roger Lemons, Larry Miller, Terry Van Laningham, Gary CfBrien and David McDonnell.Coaching the all-star team will be Clyde Marshall, GlennMaynard, Wayne Miller, Bowers and Cecil White.
