Monday afternoon at 2:35 there was a freight train wreck on an extra freight, north bound, on the Chicago, Milwaukee St. Paul Railroad, one and one-fourth miles south of Wads worth. As a result the Gurnee pas senger was held until after 5, al though a Milwaukee wrecker cleaned up the debris in a hurry. The front track of one box car jumped the track and tore the car to pieces, making it a total loss. The ground was torn up for 600 feet, but not the track. The accident happened at a sharp curve where the railroad has been excavating for some time. New ties and rails are on the spot to straighten out the curve. Reunion At Grayslake. Stanley Boses, a man apparently in the best of health, was found dead at the rear of a Tenth street saloon late yesterday evening, in his pocket an emptied flask that had evidently contained a poor grade of whiskey. Boses has a sister and a brother in the Tenth street district, but is said to have been a pariah, an outcast, to the last, until his relations aban doned him, since which time he has slept where he could get the room, in his boots, and with the perfume of the low bar on his lips, living no man ever knew how. North Chicago police are investi gating the mystery. It is thought that chronic alcoholism caused the death. The body of Roses was found under a tree near the Hagen barn on Tenth street, where he was last seen at 5 yesterday afternoon. The man is described as a fearful drinker. Dam for Fox River. A most enthusiastic meeting of those concerned was held at the Mc Henry village hall last Friday even ing and as a result a dam in Fox river below McHenry is now an as sured thing. Among those to speak on the sub ject last Friday evening were Hon. William Lorimer of Chicago, Attorney Lumley of Woodstock and Prof. F. M. Goodman. Enough money has already been subscribed to build a dam and work on same will be commenced soon. The dam will be located about two miles south of here and when finished will have filled a long felt want.
