We learn that whilst Samuel Galloway Esq. was making a speech at the great Republican meeting at Vaintersville on last Saturday, a difficulty arose in the crowd between two young men of this county living at Fort Wil liam,named John Johnson and John Stephens, and that Johnson struck Stephens in the face with a slung shot, knocking him down, after which he stamped upon him on the abdomen, injuring him badly, if not fatally. At last ac counts Stephens was living, though great fears were entertained that he will die from the ef fects of his internal injuries.
