Workman, Joan ElizabethMADISON-Joan Elizabeth Workman, age 77, passed away two years ago, on July 8, 2015, surrounded by her family. She was born on Sept. 29,1937, to Lyman and Clare (O’Neil) Buchanan. Joan graduated from Madison Central High School in 1956. She then went to secretary school in Milwaukee. She was united in marriage to Ronald L. Workman in June of 1959. Joan had a long career with the State of Wisconsin and retired early to be the caregiver for her sister, Sharon, and her mother, Clare, until their passing.Joan is survived by her children, Rhonda. Mary, Lyndia (Leon) Klinken-berg and David; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her sister, Gail Zwergel; and her brother, James Buchanan, She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Sharon Ponsolle and Linda Burns.Joan loved being with family, caring for her dogs, feeding and watching birds in the back yard. She enjoyed reading, music, dancing and getting her hair and nails done.
