JOSEPH BRUBAKER cameto Vinton from Cedar Rapids in 1663, after learrang the drug business there. He was the drug clerk for Van Hortte’s store for a while, then heild the same position in fhe -L o r e e slore. In 1S69, he opened his own dirv:t. store, in a Mttile shop on 4th stree between A and! B avenues, that was later Blister’s Shoe Shop. About 1881, he moved to the sate of the Ia Grange drug store where he continued in bushiess the remainder of his Hfe. He was succeeded in the store by his soc, Charlie, known to has Vinton friends- as the “Dutch Doctor.”
