Tuesday morning Emil Sweas, Pete Molstad, J. R. Buhmiller and the editor took a lot of guns and ammunition and went out to the old fair grounds where J. R. sighted m a new gun at 200 yards, the score not being important as a record was not sought. Gophers had bad luck that evening, but at that some of them got away from all but Molstad who got his man every time, and the next day claims to have taken six of the rodents in five shots. 1 he writer intended to show these fellows some real marksmanship but, unfortunately. the Buhmiller gun tobe used did not have the right barre on it—being 4 inch too short, and a little too highly polished.
