It is the opinion of Mr. Agee, sup erintendent of the force of the Georgia Engineering Co. of Augusta, the com bat has the paving contract that it will require from four to weeks to complete the extra pav ing of the business streets of the city. This depends upon a number of things of course, chief’ of which is good weath er. If the weather continues good tihe work can be pushed rapidly and j will be completed in a shorter time than is expected, Mr. Agee says that he will not have the full force that he had when he ‘came here before as the contract is not large enough to justify his bringing the full force from Thomasville where the company has another contract. He will have his wonderful negro with him, the man who can lay forty thousand brick a day. He said that the people in Thomasvill said he was the biggest liar on earth when he told them the negro could lay forty thous and brick a day but after they saw him work awhile they changed their minds. Teo streets are in bad condition. Yesterday Mary street in the vicinity of the post office was almost impassa ble. This will be the case with all the streets for sometime and there will be a world of dust but it has to be that way before the paving can be done and the paving is what the peo ple want.
