! REDMEN’S “POW WOW.’1Last Saturday evening YokavoTribe 110 of Redmen installed their officers for the ensuing term. Dist rictDeputy J. C. Ruddock was the installing officer and nstalled the following officers: Sachem, S. A.McDonald; Senior Sagamore, J. B. Sanford; Junior Sagamore, Andy Milne; Prophet, Alt' Pennington; Keeper ot Records, J. R. Elder; Keeper of Wampum, M. A. Thomas.After the ceremony of installation was over the doors were thrown ■ open and a number of invited | “pale-faces” admitted to take part ! in the “pow wow,” As a preliminary to the ‘ pow wow,” card playing was resorted to for a short half hour.! Retiring Prophet J. C. Ruddock then ! slipped on his moccasins and called j the assembly together, explained the objects of the order, and invited all to seats at the festal board, where a splendid literary program was 1 carried out much to the amusement | and edification of all. After the I repast was served, the Redmen and • “pale-faces” smoked the pipe i f; 1 peace, sang songs, recited, told I stories and had a general good timeThis was the first “pow wow”*held bv the new tribe and it was pronounced a success by all whoj attended.
