Natural GasNo little interest has been awakened in this neighborhood lately, especially among the farming community, from the fact that a syndicate of Toronto capitalists have secured options at high prices on the farms of Messrs. Jno. Paris, Andrew McBeth, J. H. Gar butt and Robt. Sutherland, of the Scotch Settlement. The gas well on the farm of Mr. John Faris, and to which we alluded in a previous issue, has given rise to the belief that in all ! probability natural gas in paying quantities can he obtained, and to this end Toronto capitalists are prepared to put the matter to the test, and it is expected operations will be commenced almost immediately. Many of our citizens will watch operations with no small amount of interest, knowing as they do that should gas be found in large quantities great ^benefits will accrue to this village as a result. Toronto capitalists are evidently hopeful, and who can tell hut gas wells of prodigious proportions may soon he found at our very doors. Some of our readers may he disposed to think that we are indulging in a little gas, so to speak, hut all the same, cheap light and fuel for Bradford may become a reality much sooner than exnected. ;
