Charles W. Smalley, 86, of Farm to Market Rd., Brewster, N.Y., a re tired laborer with the New York Central Railroad, died July 16, 1968 at his home after a long illness. Born in Hortontown, N.Y., March 21, 1882, he was a son of the late Edward and Emma Russell Smalley. His wife was the former Laura En zian. Mr. Smalley went to school in Hortontown. He was a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. He had lived in Brewster for over 80 years. He is survived by four sons, Peter of Brewster; Charles of Brookfield, Conn.; Chester of Potsdam, N.Y.; and George of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; four daughters, Mrs. Ethel Innes of Car mel, N.Y.; Mrs. Helen Musnicki and Mrs. Evelyn Brown, both of Danbury, Conn.; and Mrs. Jennie Brandon of Brewster; a brother, Chester Smalley of Poughkeepsie; a sister, Mrs. Alice Morgan of Danbury: 13 grandchil dren, and 19 great - grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Fri day at 3 p.m. at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ter., Brewster. the Rev. Ernest Johns, rector of St. An drew's Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be in Milltown Rural Cemetery, Brewster. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
