AN OLD LETTERWritten by One of the Pioneers of Kentucky.'Squire M. D. Farrow, of the Orange-1 burg precinct, in looking over acme old 1 paper* last week ran across a loiter that 1 wm written by bin father, Will Farrow,• in the early days of Kentucky. The ' documeut is well preserved, considering its age. It is addressed to“Bktcy Farrow,Wife of Will,CUrk County,”And reads as follows:Lrximgtosi. Hcptcrubcr 22, 1794,Loving Wi/ei Thcwa llmw will Inform;you that I hare arrived at Lexington In Rockbridge, about one hundred and Ufly mite* from Dumfreea which 1 expect to get there In 4 days. My Love, 1 am In perlect health at praaeut. I hope these lino* wUI And you and oar precioua child In good health. I have no new*. My Love, only aorae of our Company fiaw two Indiana In the wlldernea*; but we all got through aafe.If health la spared, My Love. It will not be long before 1 ahall see you again. I sin along with the foremost of our Company and my horae performs very well. I must conclude with subscribing myself.Yuur Loving Husband uutll death, Will Farrow.My compliments to mammy.The letter was writen at Lexington, Virginii. At the time Farrow’s home was in Clark County, this State. He afterwards moved to Montgomery, and then to Fleming, in 1815. He served in \ the war of 1812, during which time he was Major in a company that went from Montgomery County.Major Farrow died on December 20th, 1840. He was married twice. His first wife was Elizabeth Shores, of Fayette County, and his second wife, Nancy Davis, of Lewis County. He was the i father of eight sons and two daughters | by bis first wife, and of four sons and three daughters by his second wife-seventeen children in all.Nimrod Farrow,of Union Star, Andrew County, Mo., is the only one of the children by the first wife now living. Six of those by the second wife still survive, among whom are ’Squire Farrow, and Messrs. Champ Furrow, Kenas Farrow, and Howard Farrow, whoare well kuown in Maysville.
