N. Seymour and A. B. Bralcy.A. B. Braley presented the following rules, which were adopted:Wm. X. Seymour, Abram Ogden, James Larkin and A. B. Braley shall constitute a board of health for the town of 3Iadison.A majority of said board shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business.The officers of said board shall consist of a pre-fident and secretary.It shall be the duty of the president to preside at all meetings of the board, and the secretary shall keep a record of the proceedings of such meetings.The board shall have power to make all necessary and suitable provisions for the preservation of the public health, and to appoint such officers as they may deem necessary to aid them in car-rying this power into i fleet.' It shall be the duty of the physician appointed by this board, as the health officer of the town cf Madison, to Tbit the quaran iae established by this board, examine into the condi ion of the emigrants landed there—see that those who are sick or diseased are provided with proper medical attendance and suitable nurses, and make a report of the condition of such emigrants to the board of health, at each meeting thereof. It shall also be the duty of said health officer to visit all poor persons within the town of Madison, who are uuable to employ a physician, whenever any mch application shall be made to him.Said physician shall keep a bill of the services rendered by him, and of his assistants, and the medicine provided by him, and present the same to the board at each meeting.All persons landed at the quarantine shall not I e suffered to depart from the same until they are ordered to be removed by the health officer the board of health. And the necessary expenses incurred by such persons while in quarantine, shall bo paid by them, unless they shall make oath before some proper officer authorized to administer ohths, that they are without the means of paying soch expenses.It shall be the further duty of the health officer of this board to report all cases of sickness and deaths attended by him, the name of the person sick, the residence of said person, and also whether sueli person possess the means to defray the expenses of his sickness, at such meeting of the iiourd.It shall be the duty of the officers appointed by the board of health to aid them in promoting the public health ; to examine into the condition of all the streets, ianes, alleys, yards and premises, and to see that the same are kept in a clean and healthy eoudition; and to order all occupants of inildings to remove all nuisances; and in case of refusal of such persons to remove such nuisances, it shall be the further duty of such officers to prosecute such persons for such neglect or refusal.The officers appointed by the board of health shad keep an account of their expenses, and the tip’O expended by them, and make a report of all their proceedings, and present the same at each meeting of the boaid.Tne regular meetings of the board of shealth shall be held on Wednesdays and Saturdavs of each week, at 7 o’clock.
