Mary Alvena Ricker passed away on June 26, 1974 in the Baldur District Hospital after a long illness at the age of 82. Born at St. John, North Dak ota, she received her educat ion at Fort ‘Totten Convent, Devil’s Lake, North Dakota and cainé’ to Canada in 1907 to reside in the Neelin Dis trict, and remained there all her life. On January 23rd of 1909 she married Harry Rick er at Mariapolis and they farmed all their life in the Neelin district. Her predeceas ed ‘her son: March 12,1972. She is survived by sons. Albert and Harry and David at Nee lin and George at Boissévain and daughters, Mrs J. Cruick shanks (Vena), of Neelin, Mrs E. Danley (Genevieve) of Wawanesa’ and Mrs A. Basso (Marianne) of Sioux Lookout, Ontario. Also surviving are 4 brother Mike of Winnipeg and sisters Mrs Stan Irvin (Agnes) of San Clara, Men., Mrs John Funk (Annie) of Russell and Mrs George Brazeau (Flora) of San Clara. Also surviving Mrs Ricker are 18 grand children and 33 great grand children. Funeral services were held in the Neelin United Church with Rev. Father Regnier offic iating. Interment was in the Neelin Cemetery. Pallbearers were three grandsons Jim Cruikshank of Carberry, Don, Cruickshank of Brandon, Brian Ricker of Brandon, John Dumont. of Killarney, Arnold “Hoglander of ‘Lloydminister, Alta and Bill Petrie. of Neelin.
