The Honey Grove Chamber of Commerce met Monday evening, July 6, in the Civic Center with Dr. W. E. Poim boeuf, president, presiding. Among items of business, the Chamber discussed the ad visability of engaging a fulltime secretary with the Board of Directors to determine qualifications and report at the August meeting. Commissioner Johnny Avery reported on the county-wide Soil Test Campaign to be held July 27- August 7. Frank Welch gave a report on the area meeting on Texas Communities Tomorrow” held in Arlington recently. Mr. Welch also reported on mowing at the Crockett Park and the Chamber agreed to underwrite cost of mowing at the park for the next three months. Following a discussion, the Chamber requested the city to restrict automobile parking and driving in certain areas of Crockett Park, Bill Roberts, F.C. Welch and Jim Adams were appointed as a committee with Mayor R. T. Avery to work out a resolution concerning parking and driving in the park.
