Trophies and “ribbons in 25 classes’ and three division’ cham pionships were awarded yester day during the fourth annual Sil ver Spurs Horse Show at the Taconic Riding Academy’ on Ob long Road in’ Williamstown. An estimated, 400’ persons at tended the lively, day-long, show in which 48. horses, and about 87 riders, ‘took _ part. 100-Nine Radius Horses from a 100-mile radius entered the various, classes * dur ing the various activities which began at 10 a.m. and concluded about 7 p.m. Officials. named champions. .in the saddle. horse, Western,and jumper divisions from combined Scores. Champion in the saddle“horse Category “was Valiant Prince, ridden by Clare Ann George of Williamstown. ‘Reserve cham pion was: Weyfield Elf, with Su san Haun of Stamford, Vt. as rider. ‘Smoky Boy ridden by Myrtle Nevers of Middlefield won cham pion honors in the Western divi sion, while Chipper, with Terry Haun of Stamford on top, was reserve champion. The jumper division honors were awarded to Hot Dignty. Riders of the champion entrant were Jim ‘Nutt and Doug Su kanek of Cheshire and Roy Lind say of Lanesboro. Reserve win ners sharing a tie were Mr. Mo hawk, ridden by Lawrence George of North Adams and Gentleman Jim, ridden by Frank Bushey of North Adams. Winning Horses Winning horses and riders in order of placement and order of classes from 10 a. m. to conclu sion are as follows: Pet pony — Sweetheart, ridden by Lyance Littlejohn III; Stubby, ridden by Stephen LaVigne; Flos sy, ridden by Jerry Lamb, and aeony Boy, ridden by James ‘George; 4H Fitting and Show manship—Honor Girl of Earlham, William Barney; Valiant Prince, Clare Anne George; Lucky Starr, Donn Byer, and Golden Princess, Sarah Bratton. Morgan pleasure horse—Honor Girl of Earlham, Anne Bentzen; Vicky, David Christen; Weyfield Elf, Susan Haun, and Lucky Starr, Donn Byer; Horseman ship under 14, Western Cracker, Tom Vachon; Sweetheart, Bar bara LeBeau; Stormy, Karen Dooley, and Flossy,.
