Sponsors Expect Record Crowd At County Event to Be Held July 20 With the Pecan Grove homecoming celebration only a week away, sponsors continue to predict that the affair will be one of the largest events of its kind in the history of the county. The reunion will be held at Pecan Grove July 20. Letters from many states indicate that hundreds of former racidante of Danan Crarca plan ‘to come “for the celebration. At a meeting last week, com mittees were appointed and ar rangements were made to take care of all details. A. W. Oliver is general chairman, with Sam Dew secretary. Many Barrels Needed Responsibility for getting plen ty of barrels for lemonade and ice water was handed to Charley Shockley, W. J. Loman, Oliver and R. F. Robbins. One of the biggest jobs will be to get the school lawn and pic nic grounds clean and ready for the crowd. A group will do this work on Thursday, with volun teers asked to contribute their services.Members of the com mittee are Abe Dew, Sam Dew, Charley Shockley, Barney Abbott, R. F. Robbins, Harvey Ross, Paul Alford, B. O. Fulton, Ermit Ful ton, Wallace Fulton, Oliver and Biddy Fulton. Sam Dew, Shockley and Oliver will see that the seats are prop erly arranged to accommodate the greatest number of persons, while R. F. Robbins will haul the lumber to build the dinner tables. Electric Fans Furnished Electric fans are to be furnish ed by Mrs. H. A. Ross, Mrs. A. E. Newton, Sam Dew and Paul Alford. Program committee con sists of Shockley, Mrs. Ross, Mrs. Donnie Robbins, Mrs. Ruby Ab bott, Mrs. Newton and Mrs. Charles Fulton. Finance committee members are Harvey Ross, Dock Dew, Bar ney Abbott, Professor Burrough, Ron Newton, Wallace Fulton and Deck Bailey. They’re also to handle such important items as lemonade, ice water and drink ing cups. Ushers will be Charlotte Ross, Bobbie McAdams, Minnie Lee Dew, June Fulton, Joe Lee Ful ton, Opal Martin, and Ollie Rob bins. The committee to prepare the school house is composed of Mary Fulton, Eva McAdams, Mrs. Harvey Ross, Mrs. A. W. Oliver, Jewell Bowers, Miss Dew and Mrs. A. E. Newton. Everybody Invited Sponsors have urged every body who ever had any connec tion with Pecan Grove to attend, hear the program, bring a bas ket lunch and enjoy the whole day of reunion.
