Byers and his wife deny that the boy adopted by Captain Rawleston and wife, of the Salvation Army, is their son, nearly every person living in Seelyville, west of Brazil, the home of Dr. Byers, believes that the lad is the kidnapped child. Captain Rawleston freely gave his consent to taking the child to Seelyville Wednesday afternoon to be shown to Mrs. Byers, and the lad, in charge of Chief of Police McMillan and Sheriff Prince, and fully fifty curious people of Brazil, made the trip.Hundreds of excited people met the car at Seelyville, and the instant the child stepped from the car dozens of persons who knew the missing boy well, exclaimed: “It is RichmondByers. ’ ’ The front door of the Byers home was locked and only Chief McMillan and the boy were admitted. As soon as Mrs. Byers saw the boy she fainted, but when resuscitated, declared the boy was not her son. Indignation was expressed when Dr. Byers carried the boy to thecrowdand, placing him on his feet, exclaimed: “He is not my boy. Take him away and do not bring him back here again.A News reporter, in talking to the boy. asked:
