H. (}. Whitteinore, of Auburn, was taken before Judge Stull,of the district court, on Tuesday, charged with rape, an account of which was given in last week's paper. V lutiemnre plead gull fy to the charge last week, when taken before Judge Lambert, hut on Tuesday changed the plea to not guilty,claiming lie did not know tUe meaning of the word rape. Judge Stull hound him over to the next term of district court on $7,000 bond, which it not likely the prisoner will he able to give.
