Drowned.-—Oil Friday the 10th inst, while engaged in drawing a seiiio, in the Canal, near'Fair Piny, John McCov went into water a little beyond his depth, find before any us-sistauco could be given him, by those in company, ho was drowned. He was a young man—about nineteen or twenty years of age, and of very i»-d ustrioiis and correct habits. This will bo sad news to his mother, who resides in Jasper county, Illinois. He had no relations in this county.
