From that paper’s last Saturday’s sum* maty, wo copy the following s“Ben Bond, who was United States Marshal in Illinois under General Taylor, and a Scott elector in 1862, now places the Democratic ticket at the head of the paper he edits, the Carlyle Calumet*“Alonzo Cushing, Esq., a distinguished law* yer of Gallipolis, Ohio, has announced his intention of supporting tue Democratic ticket thisfall, in preference to tho opposition. ColonelniB0. has heretofore been an eminent Whig and an effective legislator* HU acquisition is a valuable gain to our ranks, as he is certain not totinremain idle during tho campaign.”An Iowa paper, in giving the proceedings of a Democratic meeting in Van Buren county, inthat State, says:my tb“Not only the Old-line Democracy are enthusiastic, but their bands are strengthened bylarge numbers of Old line Whigs, who have- * f Iopenly espoused the cause of the country against Abolition fanaticism, and are doing yeoman service for the Democracy in this contest.”Morgan County all Bigut.—There was a tremendous outpouring of the Democracy at Mooresville on Saturday last.
