Launch New SDA 9-Unit Apt. Building$75,000 Structure On Forest to be Completed NovemberShWork was started last week on a $75,0UU building project, when ground was broken lor a .multiple apartment which is to house employees of the Pacific Press* The building is located on Forest ave., and Grant.The project*-is-in ,hie with expansion plans of the Pacific Press, here which is to absorb the Inter-American division of Seventh-Day Adventists churches, now located in Cristobal, Canal Zone.A lot, 85 ft. on Forest ave., and 2G5 ft. back to Salt Creek was acquired some time ago by tl\e Seventh Day Adventists, and the proposed building is to be a nine-unit multiple apartment.Master UnitThere are to be four—two bedroom units, lour—one bedroom units and m the center a three-level master unit. Beneath the master unit is to be a utility room for the entire project.Further, there is to be a driveway around the entire building, and according to present plans completion is scheduled for November.Manager Johnson of the Pacific Press, here which is to absorb the Magnet that additional room was needed to house the staff of the inter-American division, and that building problems were so varied and so difficult that decision to build the nine-unit apartment was decided on.Expansion ChangesHe pointed out further once the Illinois Conference of the church moves to its new’ building, now under construction on Prairie ave., their quarters in the present Pacific Press building would be utilized for equipment now being shipped from Cristobal, C. Z., to Brookfield.With the installation of this equipment, he pointed out, the field of service heretofore operating out of the Canal Zone would be set up in Brookfield.The Pacific Press^ plant was established in Brookfield in 1915, and originally it was in College View, Neb. Manager Johnson also indicated that for a number^ of years the Seventh Day Adventists had maintained three manufacturing branches, one in California, a second in Cristobal for printing of Spanish books and magazines and the third in Brookfield.
