Funk, general manager of the International Harvester Company, yesterday named the go-between—the agent who represented the Lorimer interests and the “man higher up’’—in framing the suit.The man she named was William D. Ren-nett, an attorney associated in business with Attorney Patrick H. O’Donnell, defender of the Lorimer bribers and bribe-takers.Mrs. Ryan Is Lolated.With this development came the locating of Mrs. Catherine Ryan, the womak detective who handled the money provided by Attorney Daniel Donahoe to care for witnesses. The third development of interest was the exposure of a private detective agency which represented the Lorimer in-trests and is said to have been used to suborn the perjured testimony of bellboys who testified for John C. Henning.“Attorney Bennett was the man who came to me 011 various occasions and furnished me with money,” Mrs. Henning told an Examiner reporter yesterday. “He never made it clear whom he represented, but I was impressed with the belief that he did not represent Attorney Oonahoe.He often carried messages to me and gave me instructions as to what to do.Bennett Rushed to Mobile.“It was he who rushed into Mobile after the Examiner had discovered Mr. Henning and me at the Hotel Bienville, and gave us money with orders to hurry back to Chicago by different trains.”Bennett disappeared the day that Henning went on the witness stand and was subjected to a gruelling cross-examination by Funk’s lawyers.
