From Jones trinity.* Correspondence to the Fort Worth Gazette,Anson, Texas, July 10.—Jones county is now in a bail condition on aeaount of the continued drought. We. have had , two or three good rains this spring and ' summer, which freshened things up a: little, but everything was so very dry it 1 did not last but a short time. Our c itl-; zensare mostly poor men, who came out here to get cheap homes, and have invested their little means in land and im-1 provements. depending on their laborI for a support for their families. Mosttall, of them put in large crops last spring,I and now will not make the seed they ; planted, and there is no work they can get to do to earn money with which to ' buy the necessaries of life, and they all 'i have to make payments on this land in ’ August, or lose what they have paid and :all the improvements, which nine out ofevery ten will be compelled to do. Manyof them are leaving the. county in searchof work, in order that they may be ahle to save their homes and support their families. The stock water is gone, ami there is absolutely not grass enough inJones county to keep the stock alive for ninety days longer if it does not rain.
