A. D. Johnston High School Class of 1953 A reunion was held recently by Bessemer’s A. D. Johnston High School class of 1953 at Stonegate Farms, Bessemer. Classmates attending are, from the left: First row — Delores Gardetto Carlson, Bernice Banfield Allen, Mary Ann Selin McCarty, Shirley Heikanen Coffman, Patricia Longhini Ossana, Marie Sommers Guiliani, Carol Grenfell Russell, Helen Gustafson Lindquist and Jean Coleman Martilla. Second row — James Scholar, Bernadine Makela Shepherd, Ruth Zarecki Pehm, Joy Nelson Staller,Joanne Dianich Smith, Janet Brown Cheffee, Bernice Blazonin Serza, Sally Erickson Gass, Carol Rintala Sandene and Clara Calabro Benny; third row — Thomas Mazanec, Kenneth Morse, Ruth Hanson Joswiak, James Joswiak, Niles Sanders, Jon Lindquist, Jim Gheller, Frank Jurasin, Donald Borgaro and James Massa; fourth row — Robert DeMarte, Robert Harris, Kenneth Carlson, Alfredo Ciuferelli, James Strelcheck, Jack Mattson, Richard Swanson, Neil Bradly, Donald Carlson and Carl Johnson. Prizes were awarded to classmates as follows: Mr. and Mrs. James Josciak, both classmates, most children and oldest child; James Scholar, most changed; Mrs. Joanne Smith, least changed; Mrs. Carol Russell, oldest grandchild, and Mrs. Bernice Allen, Maine, travelled the furthest to attend.
