The Abilene and Southern Railway Co. will present its case at 9 a. m. July 29 before the Texas Railroad Commission for discontinuing its agency at Ballinger and to retire and dis mantle its depot there, accord ing to an item Tuesday in a daily newspaper. This is just one instance of railroads asking for hearings on further curtailment of railroad service in the area. It has been stated that there is very little freight traffic from Ballinger to Abilene. In the event the Ballinger agency is discontinued, the Winters AS agent would handle all traffic from Ballinger.
