Roswell's aggressive Rockets, masterminded by the tempestuous and controversial Alex Monchak, move into Steer park to tangle with the Big Spring Broncs. Game time is 3 o'clock. The two teams square away again Monday night, starting at 15 p.m. The Broncs clipped Roswell twice in Roswell last week to gain a firm hold on second place in the landings. Mike Fornielas may go to the mound for the Steeds this after noon. Lightning—in the form of mer cury-heeled Manny Junco— struck for the second time at Steerpark, as the Big Spring Broncs came from far back to nip Vernon, 6-5, before a paid turnout of 1,229 fans here Saturday night. It was billed as a brand new game but Junco applied a finish identical to the one he employed to win Friday night. A mighty two-strike swat plated Mike Forneiras and A! Costa. The blow came off Cotton Russell but at the expense of Lefty Marshall Epperson, who had put the winning runs on base. Epperson was bril liant, well nigh untouchable for seven innings. A bases loadd double by Witty Quintane in the eighth put the Broncs back in the ball game, however, and set the stage for the theatrical finish Guido Hernandez opened the Big Spring half of the ninth with a walk and Fernandez followed with an infield hit. It was then that Russell came on Costa tried to lay the ball down but John Reimold made a nice play to catch Hernandez at third. Mike Lastra popped out to bring on Jun co. Fernandez was hit hard through out the game but hung on to reg ister his tenth win of the season The Dusters ganged up on him for four tallies in the second, batting completely around.
