ENTERTAINS MASONS.J. Frank McDermond Host to a Grea Crowd Last Saturday at Flint.lt; 11 last Saturday J. Frank McDer in on (1, tn hts camp at Flint, entertained the Odell Mamina and| their families. The Odell lodge in one of the 1 argent country lodges In the state and Its membership Includes many of the prominent farmers of Fountain and ,Tippecanoe counties. Mr. McDermond had invited the members and their families to his camp on Saturday and the lodge aecepttd the invitation, there lelng 17f men, women and children who were present by 2 o’clock p. in. The host and hostess had provided 25 gallons of fine ice cream. The lodge members had stipulated that they were to furnish the cake, and the supply and quality of that dainty was u surprise to the Ledger reporter who hap|H*ued to be present. If there was anyone who did not get full satisfaction It could not be notteed. Knough cake was left to furnish old Aunt Ifattle Mason with “eats” for some time. That noted character lives In a tent near Flint ami edged her way up toward the tatdes until she was given a big dish of cream and a generous slice of cake. As she passed one of the tables she was noticed to sweep Into her apron the contents of several plates of cake.I'he camp at Flint Is one of the finest along the river, and Mr. Me Dermond has two tents fitted up very comfortably for a stay of several weeksA rnll»*r coaster and a frame for shooting the chutes afforded much pleasure to the children as well as to the older bovs like Ted Devore, o il VValburn and Allen Moulds. There were several nice row boats on the river and those who wished to do so enjoyed rides on the water. After the ice cream and cake had been served Fob Hugh Richie made a neat little sp«vch, thanking Mr. Me-Dermoud for the splendid entertainment and proposed three cheers for thetr host. These were given with a hearty good will, and the people departed for thetr homes. it was one of the j oil lest, chummiest crowds It has ever been our lot to meet.
