little. There is plenty of room for improvement.City of fclie Dead.Oar reporter went out to the graveyard on the hill yesterday in company with W, Sanders. We found that*he had done considerable work already in the way of fixing it up, and had planned a great deal more. A street sixty feet wide will go all around it, and avenues twenty feet wide through it. Water has been brought in and many graves have flowers growing upon them. The grave of Joe Guise is the^best taken care of out there, and is a very nice one. The Hebrews own two acres of land in the cemetery, but have only fenced one acre in as yet. The Knights of Pythias have a plot of three acres, but have not yet commenced to fix it up. Next spring they propose to plant trees and beautify it. 31 r. Sanders will plant a great many trees, and now that the water is in they will grow nicely. It costs $100 a year to supply the grounds with water, and Mr. S. asks only $5 a year to take care of a grave, but so far only three have availed themselves of it. The yard covers about 25 acres. The lots are 18x36 feet, and are sold for $100, half lots $50 and single graves $6 25. Sixteen persons can be buried in .a full lot. In the middle of the ground Mr. Sanders will place a fountain and have a gravel drive around it for the convenience of carriages daring funerals. The Potters’ Field is the most thickly populated portion of the graveyard, there being about 60 graves in it. In a few years that cemetery will be a beautiful spot, for Mr. Sanders will have it full of nice drives aud will plant all sorts of ornamental shrubbery.
