The United Parents Plus Power Group of Winterville recently presented $100 each to three achievers from the Winterville Youth Organization who made the Honor Roll, Principal’s List or Superintendent’s List all four grading periods during the 1992- 93 school year. The three children who won the awards are Latricia R. Preston, Loderick Hill and Lakendria Ellis. Lakendria Ellis will be a fourth grade student at O’Bannon —_ next year. She is very competitive and enjoys receiving top awards and certificates from her classes. Her hobbies are riding her bicycle, sewing clothes for her dolls and playing doctor. She wants to become a nurse one day. She attends Mt. Pleasant Church in Winterville. The spon sor of her award is Mrs. Louise Loughran, executive director, Greenville Arts Council. Preston Latricia Preston will be a third grade stu dent next year at Trigg Ele mentary School. She is the daughter of Mrs. Cheryl Preston of Greenville. Preston enjoys learning and sharing what she knows. Her hobbies are playing volley ball, reading, writing and styling hair, and she wants to be a doctor. The sponsors of her award are the church she attends, St. Joseph MB Church of Winterville, and David and Minnie Lou McGinnist of Greenville. Loderick Hill will be a third grade student next year at O'Bannon =s Ele mentary School. In addition to having a good year for aca demic achieve ment, he also had perfect at tendance. Hill masters new tasks easily and then plays later. His hobbies are playing baseball, kickball and basketball. He aspires to be the world’s best basketball player. Hill attends Macedonia Baptist Church of Winterville. The — son of his award is The Friends of Education, Inc., Greenville, Alonzo Dukes, executive director. Hill is a son of Sherry Hill of Winter ville.
