A giant Washington, D. C.. mural, painted by the late Kindred McLeary, a Colorado County native, has been put on public view again after 23 years undercover. The cover was placed there in 1954 by order of an Eisenhower Admini stration executive who thought the mural might be offensive to visiting dip lomats. Over a 2-year period early during World War II, McLeary painted the 12-by-50-foot mural on a “loby wall of the 21st street government building then occupied by the War De partment” but now-occupi ed—by- the U.S.— Depart (Continued on Page 3)
