A sighting of an Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) that appear ed out of the west, changed col ors and then suddenly disappear ed was the experience early Tues day evening of a Harmon Road resident. Mrs. Mary Brillon reported that she and her husband, James, and his brother, Jerry, were out side the Brillon home about 8 p.m. when the object was first spotted. Mrs. Brillon said that at first it appeared to be ‘‘bright silver’’ and she thought that it was a jet plane with the sun glinting off it. ‘‘But it kept coming,’’ she said, ‘‘and I could see that it wasn’t a plane.’’ As the object passed roughly overhead its color, Mrs. Brillon continued, changed to red. ‘‘And then it suddenly vanished,’’ she said. The object and its sudden dis appearance ‘‘scared me half to death,’’ the woman said, thinking still that it might be a plane. But she said she called the local air port which reported that as far as was known no planes were in the area at that time. One other significant charac teristic that was noticed was that the object was “perfectly quiet.’’ Mrs. Brillon said that because of the object’s distance it was hard to say how big it was but she thought ‘‘not very big.’’ It was also too far away, she said, to make out its shape or any other distinguishing fea tures. Both her husband and brother-in-law also saw the ob ject, she said. She noted that this was not her first experience with such an object. She recalled seeing similar objects on several oc casions when she lived in Hoos ick Falls, N.Y., but the last of these sightings was some 12 years ago.
