Fellow Staff Members Delightful Evening Gathering Mrs. Helen L. Webber, su perintendent of the Children's Home for the last five years was given a surprise farewell party by fellow staff members Wednes day of last week at the home. A buffet supper as 6.30, fol lowed by a social evening and a presentation to Mrs. Webber of a silver covered dish, from the staff and individual silver salt and pepper sets from the chil dren. All the youngsters were pres ent with the older folks during the ice cream and cake portion of the party and were tremen dously amused by Mrs. Webber's efforts to cut a prettily decorat ed, sham wedding cake of frost ed plaster of paris. Monday at the chapel of Mid dlebury College, Middlebury, Vt., Mrs. Webber will wed Har rison C. Greenleaf, former Com missioner of State Institutional Services, and will complete du ties at the home tomorrow. The supper table was attrac tively appointed with vases of sweet peas and rambler roses. Mrs. Hazel Lowell poured and the following children assisted in serving: Charlene, Donna and Patty Guynn, Virginia Coombs, Nancy Ryder and Lois Blagdon. Those present included Mrs. Webber’s mother, Mrs. Jennie Clements, her son and daughter, Bill and Nancy Webber, Mrs. Louise Staples, former home su perintendent, Harry Cook, Mrs. Mertina McInnes, Miss Ethel Cooper, Mrs. Gertrude Small, Mrs. Shirley Rand, Miss Mar garet Kemp, Mrs. Edith Clark, Mrs. Annie Sullivan, Mrs. Bern adette Leonard, Mrs. Georgie Dinsmore, Mrs. Hazel Lowell, Arthur Stilphen, Mrs. Alice Stil phen and Miss Bartha Bailey. Superintendent of Schools Loring R. Addison left Wednes day for Cambridge, Mass., where he will attend a two-day session of the Harvard Summer School Conference on Educational Ad ministration. On Friday he will attend the annual meeting of the New England School Develop ment Council.
