caucusSCENE OFFront Tire Blows Out; Car Turns Over Three TimesA tire blow-out, while traveling at a high rate of speed, is believed to have caused the high-powered machine of Nels Wic k s t r o m, wealthy building contractor of Chicago, to turn over three times onState Road 41 in Hanover Centeryesterday noon.When passing- autoists reached the wreckage, Mr. Wickstrom was dead. His neck had been broken* his skull fractured and his right shoulder blade snapped. He was 56 years of age.The body was removed last night to his home at 5943 Augusta ave., Chicago. An inquest into the death will bo held next week by Deputy Coroner Dr. W. F, Houk, of Crown Point.WAS GOING FASTMr. Wickstrom had just left hrs cottage at Moody grounds, near the Cedar Lake picnic site, and was headed for Chicago at a high rate of speed when the accident occurred.FRONT TIRE BLOWSNo eye-witness account could be obtained by Crown Point authorities investigating the case; but an examination of the badly wrecked machine revealed that the front tire had been blown out.This, it is thought, caused Mr, Wickstrom to lose control of his car. Motorists, several hundred feet behind, told authorities that they saw Wickstrom’s heavy machine suddenly swerve to the right and then hurtle into the air. It rolled over three times before it came to a stop, they said.WHEEL SNAPPED OFF The tonneau was crushed and the steering wheel was snapped off. It is believed that the driver was hurled against the top of the ton~ neu when the car overturned the first i me and that his neck was broken by the impact.He is survived by his widow, whom he left at his Cedar Lake cottage when he headed for Chicago. He was returning to the city to fill a business engagement.Geisen's Mortuary at Crown Point, where the body was removed following the accident, said today that funeral arrangements are being completed by a Chicago undertaking establishment, to where the remains were taken by the family last evening.
