Jared Ingersoll, of Philadelphia, has plead guilty of purloining books from the Mercantile Library of that city. He further admitted that he hadrobbed other libraries. The books taken were stolen for waste paper. Thelibrarian who detected him puttingbooks under his coat, testifies that dur-.ing the last seven years over $10,000worth of books had been lost in this manner. • • •
