Sam Schultz, of Sherman Oaks, advertising executive and long-time active member of the Valley Center of Arts, has been elected president of that nonprofit organization. Schultz has served a term as vice president of the cen ter. “Now that we’re in ample central Valley quarters we hope to serve a larger seg ment of the community, not only with classes but with pro grams and important exhibits as well,’’ Schultz said, in ac cepting his new office. ‘‘We want to urge people in the Valley to visit the center, find out what we’re doing and join us. We feel we have a unique organization, combining high caliber art activity with a, ‘spirit of warmth and partici pation.”’ Other officers elected at the meeting were Dr. Burt Fink, vice president; ‘Mrs. William Hodson, secretary; Mrs. Lee Goldin, treasurer, and as di rectors: Sydney Hellman and Mines, Jane Oliphant, Frances Saslow, Lucy Ander son, Pat Hines and Patsy Wal lin. Summer classes for children and adults are still open for registration and include mix ed media, painting, sculpture, batik, drawing, watercolor and ink, folk song repertory class and guitar.
