‘The two teenage sons of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Gonzales Sr. of Cuero, their only children, drowned Sunday afternoon in the Guadalupe River near Nursery, Texas, during a family outing. Mr. Gonzales is an owner of Schulenburg Livestock Commis sion Co. and auctioneer for com mission companies at Cuero, Vic toria, Austin, Hallettsville and Schulenburg. The family was on a picnic with a Yoakum couple and their three children. The boys apparently slipped off rocks into deep water at about 12:30 p.m. although no one saw them. When they were missed later, a search was begun and a Victoria man made several dives looking for them where they had last been seen. Shortly after 1 pm. the sher iff's department and fire depart ment were notified and and operations were begun, bodies were located at 1:50 p.m. about 20 feet from where they were thought to have gone down. Efforts to revive them were frtlith less.
