The building was designed by Fehmer Page, and a great many details were selected by Gov Arnes and Mr Carl Fehmer during a summer trip through Europe.Renaissance features with some details taken from the period when gothic influence was strong are the characteristics of the dwelling throughout. It Is said that more money was spent on this first floor than on any two others in the city.
