LAID TO REST.Profound Grief Over the Death of Mr. William Schweitzer.It was with regret that a wide circle of friends heard of the death of William Schweitzer last Tuesday. He was a well known resident of the East End, a man of sterling qualities, a devoted husband, kind father and steadfast friend. For several years he was engaged in the grocery business, from which be retired to accept a responsibe position with the Ciay-street brewery.Mr. Schweitzer leaves a wife and eight children to*'mourn his loss, and the sympathy felt for them was marked by the large number who called at the family residence, 822 Clay street, to take a la9t look at their departed friend. The deceased was a brother-in-law of Messrs. John and Frank Walters.The funeral took place Thursday morning from St Martin's church with solemn requiem high mass, Monsignor Francis Zabler being the celebrant, assisted by Fathers Berresheitn and Thom. A high tribute was paid to the character of the deceased in the funeral sermon. St. Martin’s parish has sustained the loss of another of its most influential and respected members.
