IN HONOUR OF LORD CARRINGTON.July 25 is the date fixed for the N. L.C. conversazione at which a portrait of Lord Carrington will be presented, in the name of the subscribers, by Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman and Lord Kimberley. The portrait is, like that of Lord Granville, in the dining-room of the club, the work of Mr. Daniel Wehrschmidt. Mr. Wehrschmidt was a pupil of Professor Herkomer, and for some time held the position of Art Master at the Bushey School. His portraits and other works are familiar on the walls of the Academy, and he has also executed some of the best-known engravings from the portraits of contemporary public men.
