After consulting with substantialcolored men in all parts of the country Prof. Booker T. Washington, of Tus-kegee, Ala., has decided to assist In the organisation of a National Negro Business Leagus. The object of this organisation is to encourage colored pcOw pis through the osntral and lccal organisations to enter all avennes of business. The first mseting will bo held In Boeton. August 23d and 24th.L«t us not become weary, for we are doing well. We are not to lose heart because we do not measure up as a whole to the highest standard. We are not expected to do on the same •oil under adverse circumstances in athird of a century of quasi freedom what it has taken another race three centuries of full freedom to accomplish.America offers a home for the Boers, at least one or two of her States have. Are we still holding to that dangerous gospel, that we are the refuge and natural proteotor of all the oppressedof the earth, save about a half score of millions -of our own at home ?If love of the country; love of Itsflag; love of its Institutions are testsof true cltlxenship, then la the American/Negro a citizen of the truest type?Prof. Booker T. Washington has been asked to deliver the annual address before the Harvard Dental Association at its meeting, Young’s Hotel, Boston, June 256h. This is one of the most famous organizations of New England.
