Col John W. Baum one of our old drillers and oil producers is to furnish Atlanta, lt;ra., with water by artesian wells. While ^on a visit to Atlanta some two months ago Mr. Baum completed arrangements with that city to superintend the drilling of artesian wells for supplying the city with water, and is now here to procure the necessary machinery, tools and employ men for that purpose. Struthers, Wells Co. to furnish the maelfcnery, the Oil Well Sup-ply Co. to furnish ihe tools. Mr. Baum has procured the most experienced drillers in this country aud with his long experience in this business we feel confident he will meet with success. He tells us Atlanta is one of the most flourishing cities in the country, it has more than doubled in population and business in the past eight years,and now is in a flourishing condition. A fine hotel the H. I. Kimbal House, now being built to cost |050,000, the furniture to cost $100,000. We wish Mr. Baum everysuccess in his new enterprise.
