I*** Saturday m fatal case of sunstroke incurred nt Hkinner’* sand bank, about m quarter of b mile weat of town. John Hoover, m mm about forty years of age and who has always been accustomed to out-door labor, bat who, tor several months paat, had been drinking very hard, went to the bank in the morning for a load of sand. Ho had loaded the wagon and had driven the team a few rods, when the horses were unable to go farther on account of a rise in the ground. At this place the team and wagon were standing with tne dead body of Hoover lying a short distance away when discovered by James Alley, who was passing the and bank about one o'clock, on bis return from dinner to a Held where bs was plowing corn. Mr. Alley notified the an thorities, and Mayor Jones, Marshal Fox and Constable Woodruff drove out to the sand bank and found the rigid corpse lying upon its face with the bands drawn op under the breast to a couvuUed manner, plainly Indicating the terrible struggles through which the unfortunate mao hod passed before being relieved by death. By request of David Hays, In whoee employ Mr. Hoover had frequently been, but was not at the time of his death, the remains were taken to his residence, where they remained until Batnrday evening, when they were taken to Bascom, where relative* and friends of the deceased reside. We understand he was buried in Bascom on Sunday.
