A very promifmgchild, abont three years old, fen of Mr. Benjamin Peeie, junr. ofthistown, was, on the aSth of January lail, bitten in'the cheek by a dog belonging to the family, which on the fourth day after died, with all thefymp-totns ofmadneis. 1 he child continued well until! the zilUnffent, when he made feme final! complaints; but on Sunday evening laft he grew fiek, was feverifh, and ^omitted great part of the night ; on Monday , morning, though very thirfty, he refufed to drink any kind of drink, when offered him,, or let it come near his lips; and in the afternoon, as the diforder increafed, every attempt to give him any liquids threw him into great difcrefs, attended with moff violent agitations, which went off with a deep heavy fobbing.
