serving on board the destroyer escort of the Atlantic fleet he helped commission a year ago is F1/c Steve Peceniak, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Peceniak of 1121 Wabash avenue. He entered the Navy in March, 1943, and was trained at Farragut, Idaho, and Norfolk, Va. He attended Joliet Township High school and im pleted a welding course at Lec port Township High school. Prior to entering service, he was em ployed by the Joliet Heating cor poration. Two brothers are in the Army, John, 25, a sergeant, and Joseph, 24, a corporal.
