For the first time since the primary law was adopted, the Democrat party will hold no primary election this year for the nomination of can didates for state and national offices, according to information received by Senator KR. O. Norris, Jr., chairman of the Lancaster County central commit tee, Senator Harry F. Byrd has no op position for the nomination as the party's candidate for U.S. senator and none of the Democratic congress men have opposition for the party nomination for member of the U. S. house of Representatives. All nine Virginia representatives are Demo crats, and since only these members filed for the nomination, they will autoniatically be declared the party hominges without the necessity of a Dirty primary. For a while there was some talk that Congressman Otis Bland of the First District might have opposition, and there was considerable talk that Congressman Montague of Richmond and one or two of the other members might be opposed for the nomination but this talk never reached the point where any of the men discussed filed in any of the districts.
