July 12.—Special: ThefunetaL services of Neva aud luez Kress; the two litle girls drowned in the wapelepinican were held at the Baptist church, here, attended ■ by a large number of sorrowing Triends.The tragic death of these children was oneof the saddest events In the history of the communitr-Last Sunday the families of Mr. and Mm Allle Kress and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kress were spending the .afternoon at Cedar Rock on the Wap-eipinicon river, north of Quasfiueton.The man were up the river ana the children, Neva and her cousin Inez, both six years of age, were wading in the -water and weie both, drowned before assistance could arrive. The mother of one of the little girls walked to Qoasqueton to secure help ana In about an hour the bodies were recovered.
