At RestIt is sad news Unit the beloved wife of Dr. J. It, H. Feenstm died suddenly at her home in Arcadia, Friday, July 1st of heart failure. Thu news was a surprise tn her many friends and relatives for they had no notice that death was so near, or that she had been sick. One-of the old settlers of that town passed away in the death of this good mother and loving wife. For more than a quarter of century the Feenstra’s have lived in that town and nil who know the deceased look on her as an ideal wife and mother who devoted her life to her home and made all who entered it feel that in the home she reigned queen and that her subjects loved ami honored her.Antje von dor Veer Feenstrn was born Dec. 5th, 1838 at Kullum, Fries.-Innd, Holland and was 72 years, 7 months nnd 10 days old at the time of her death. She was united in marriage to J. B. H. Fcenstra June the 5th, 1862 in the old native homo in Holland. One year later they came to America to cast their fortunes in u strange land surrounded by new influences and here she resided until death relieved her of her labors which had been so well and lovingly performed. To this union there were born seven children, six are now living and mourn the loss of their greatest friend—their mother. The other, a daughter, Mrs. George Hoiten died last February. The surviving children are Mrs, Elsind Frank oi Garrison, S. D.; Mrs. Joanna Johnston, Wheatland township; Mrs. Chas. T. Ghnsman, Sioux City; Mrs. Sarah Verestehren Schleswig; and John, Ruthven, and Thos. Aurora, S. D.The decaesed was reared in the faith of the protestanta but in later years changed her belief to that of Agnostics and in this she remained firm until her death. She belonged to the same school of thinkers as Robt. Ingersall nnd his followers and among whom is her husband who is also a firm convert to thiB class of thinkers. To the ordinary mind the thought of dying without a Hell to fear or a Heaven to hope for is unnatural and leaves life devoid of the es-senials that go to bring that sweet peace that comes as a consolation to alt as they feel themselves returning to the hand of the One who called thorn into being. But not so with her or her faithful husband, they did their part in the drama of life fixn in the belief that death ends all and that life at best is but a fitful dreamThe Dr. and family desire to express their heartfelt thanks to those kind neighbors and friends who so generously assisted them during the death and burial of their dear wife and mother.—
