He had St * in cash after purchasing a few things at a Bndgemtn store and started out to walk from Bridgeman to Ba-rods. I pon leaving the Bridgeman store he was joined by two men who told him they were going to Baroda and the three started on their walk When near Karcda four men jumped up from the side of the road and the s.x burly ruffians demanded l.yingert money. He refused to give it up and he was pounded with clubs, stones and hats until he was unconscious when the men took his money and left him for ! dead in the road where he remained all night, fie was found at an early hour this mrrning ami brought to this city where bis wounds were properiy eared for. He was a horrible sight. His clothing was torn and covered with blood His head and face was cut in twenty different p.aces Une ear is nearly torn off and his body is a mass of bruises.
